The Norfolk Resort of Cromer: Located on the northern coastline of Norfolk county in Eastern England, the seaside resort and civil parish of Cromer has been a favourite vacation location ever since the nineteenth century. The tourist industry developed in Cromer early in the nineteenth century, and it was recognized for its clean air and health enhancing bathing conditions. First constructed in 1820, the Hotel de Paris was a coastal home for Lord Suffield, it was later remodelled as a hotel in 1830 by Pierre le Francois.

The railway system found its way to Cromer in 1877, drawing lots more people to the town and establishing it as a holiday destination. Another train station connecting it to the East Midlands opened up about a decade later.

The parish church of St Peter and St Paul first dates from the 14th century, although it was reconstructed in the 1800s and now boasts the tallest church tower in Norfolk (160 feet).
