The Norfolk Resort of Cromer: Found on the north coast of Norfolk county in East Anglia, the coastal resort and parish of Cromer has for many years been a fashionable vacation destination. Additionally respected for being a fishing town, Cromer is notable for its lobsters and crabs, providing a major income source for its fishermen since early times.

The frequently hazardous sea conditions off the coastline of Norfolk, led to the Cromer Lifeboat Station being established in the early 1800s, the lifeboats were predominately crewed by Cromer's fishermen. In the nineteen twenties, a lifeboat station was constructed at the end of Cromer Pier, which allowed lifeboats powered by motor to replace rowed lifeboats.

Tourism started in the town in the first half of the nineteenth century, and the town was acknowledged for the pure air and health improving sea bathing conditions. First constructed in 1820, the Hotel de Paris was a coastal residence for Lord Suffield, it was adapted into a hotel in 1830 by one Pierre le Francois.

The railway line was connected to the town in eighteen seventy seven, carrying growing numbers of people to the area and establishing it as a vacation destination. An additional train station to the East Midlands opened approximately ten years after this.

The St Peter and St Paul parish church originates from the fourteenth century, but was rebuilt in the 1800s and at present has the highest church tower in the county (160 foot).
